Free E-Recycling April 16th – 30th

UW Fox Valley is teaming up with 5R Processors, LTD, to bring a FREE E-RECYCLING event to campus starting Wednesday, April 16th and ending Wednesday, April 30th, in recognition of Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014. If you have any outdated and/or broken electronics collecting dust at your home we will gladly take it free of charge. The drop-off site will be located just inside the main entrance by the planetarium. A cart will be available to place all your items on throughout the weeks anytime of day. Please write in the note book provided at the drop off site the item you are dropping off and if you are a Student, Faculty Member, or Staff.

All the electronics will be properly recycled, which may include the reusing and/or reclaiming of the parts and components to re-engineer manufactured electronics and other equipment for re-entrance into the marketplace. This process will reduce the impact on the world’s natural resources and reduce the amount of toxic materials entering the landfills in Wisconsin. All information stored on any type of electronic will be wiped clean and the device then put to a magnet for protection of personal information.

Items Welcome: monitors, scanners, laptops, docking stations, copy machines, fax machines, printers, TV’s, VCR’s, DVD players, cell phones, hard wire phones, pagers, typewriters, fax cartridges, printer cartridges, calculators, keyboards, mice, other computer peripherals, MP3 Players, IPod’s, stereo equipment, radios, microwaves, game consoles, video boards, audio visual equipment, GPS Units, receivers, controllers, Roombas, and other types of consumer electronics.

Items NOT Welcome: batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, appliances (i.e. refrigerators, stoves, washers, and dryers), projector televisions, wood console televisions, and wood speakers.

We thank you for your anticipated participation in the e-recycling event and we encourage you to search closets, basements, and attics for any electronics you no longer have a use for and to help us in our effort to reduce the impact to our world and Wisconsin.

This will be the Third Free E-recycling event to happen at UWFox. The last two events have brought in over 1000 items to be properly recycled.
